Two Ways To Live 03/23/2010

"Two Ways To Live" has become my preferred way to share the gospel with the lost.  Here's a brief example of how it can be very conversational.  As you watch the video, you'll notice that Two Ways To Live is more of a summary of the Bible's plot line than a formula for "how to get saved."

A friend of mine sent me this video.  It's a clip of long-time Navigator John Crawford talking about an interaction he had with Dawson Trotman, founder of The Navigators.  What Dawson said to John is still at the center of our mission!

Q&A Panel 02/26/2010

At NavNight last night we finished up a month long series on the body, sex, sexuality, dating and purity with a panel question and answer session.  Students submitted their questions related to those topics, and we did our best at giving candid answers.  Here's a sampling of the questions students asked and we answered.
  • "Given that God saw fit to link sex with procreation, how should Christians view contraception?"
  • "Is there a real 'Mr. Right'?  I.e. is there a specific person that God has for us, or does he let us choose so long as we honor him with the relationship and put him at the center of it?"
  • "How does God view homosexuality and transgender people?"
  • "If I don't think I want kids, and I'm fine being single, does that mean I have the gift of singleness?"

"God is good."  A close friend of mine said that to me over the phone today.  God is good!  Doesn't knowing that change everything?  This afternoon I'm struck by God's goodness and grace towards us.  It's such a privilege to be able to serve Him on the college campus.  Not only do we get to spend our days helping students know Jesus and make Him known, but we get to see God provide for our needs through our friends.

Paul said it like this, "I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel..."

Thank you for helping us with your prayers!  Thank you for helping us with your finances!  We couldn't be here without your partnership.

Here's an article from 1956 on the death of Dawson Trotman, founder of The Navigators.  "B Rations!"  http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,891299,00.html

Here's a short video that tells the story of the beginnings of The Navigators.  Enjoy!

"The need of the hour is men who want what Jesus Christ wants and believe He wants to give them the power to do what He has asked.  Nothing in the world can stop those men."  -Dawson Trotman, Founder of The Navigators

The name of this blog came from one of his essays.  He's our favorite author.  Here's a great sound clip that was recorded during World War II and included in the book  Mere Christianity.  Enjoy!

Thank you so much to all the ministry partners we were able to see while in Wisconsin over the holidays.  We were greatly encouraged by our visit!  It's an amazing privilege to be partnered with people who so greatly desire to see the gospel of Jesus advanced.
